• WHO IS THE LIFT OFF FOR?

Anyone (18+) who wants to test their Strength & Endurance in a fun, encouraging, and competitive setting. We’re less concerned on who lifts the heaviest, and more focused on Athletes hitting personal records. You’ll be surprised what you can accomplish with the power of your Team behind you.

  • HOW DO I KNOW WHICH WEIGHT CLASS TO SIGN UP FOR?

Your weight class is based on your bodyweight. We have three weight classes per gender to choose from, with different weights for the rep tests in each. Competitor may choose to compete in a higher weight class than their bodyweight falls, but may not move down in a weight class.

You will indicate which weight class you intend to compete in upon registration. Weigh-in will take place at event check-in, and any necessary changes will be assigned then.

  • HOW DOES THE REP TEST WORK?

At each rep test, the bar will be set at a prescribed weight for your weight class. You will complete as many reps as possible (without reracking or stepping away from the bar) at your prescribed weight in 90 seconds. You are allowed to rest in between repetitions as needed, but your test is over as soon as you rerack the barbell or step away from the deadlift bar. As soon as you rerack the barbell or step away from the deadlift bar, your rep test is over.

  • WHAT IF I’M NOT THAT STRONG?

You are. But, even if you’re not the heaviest lifter in the room, this is a great way to test your strength and muscular endurance in an encouraging and motivating environment. You may set a new PR or surprise yourself with how many reps you can hit when you push yourself. This competition is about hitting your own personal best and pushing outside of your comfort one.

  • HOW DOES SCORING WORK?

Each of the six events will be weighted equally. Whoever wins each event will receive the highest amount of points possible, with second place earning the second highest amount, and so on. Whoever has the overall highest points at the end of all six events is named our Lift Off Champion (M/F.) Only heavyweight division competitors are eligible to be named Lift Off Champion. Other divisions will have their own winners named with an honorable mention and other great prizes.

  • CAN I USE CHALK, STRAPS, WEIGHT BELT, ETC?

Chalk will be provided for the deadlifts, and you are welcome to bring a weight belt, knees sleeves or wrist wraps, however lifting straps are not permitted.

  • WHAT ARE THE PRIZES FOR LIFT OFF WINNERS?

Each division winner will receive a cash prize from Tone House + other great prizes from our event partners. Individual event winners will receive medals.

  • WHAT IS ALLOWED DURING THE REP TESTS?

In the squat and bench press rep tests, your score is determined by total amount of successful reps in 90 seconds. You are permitted to take as much time between reps with the barbell still at extension or on your back as you need. In the bench press, feet may be flat on the ground or on the bench for shorter athletes. In the deadlift, you may rest the barbell on the ground for maximum 2 seconds at a time in between lifts. Mixed grip is permitted, Sumo is not. You may not take your hands off the barbell. As soon as you remove your hands or take longer than 2 seconds to perform the next lift, your rep test is complete.

  • WILL YOU ISSUE REGISTRATION REFUNDS?

If, for any reason, you are unable to compete, you may transfer your registration to another athlete, apply your registration to the following year’s event, or receive store credit. No refunds will be allowed.
